"Perfumed stationery" sounds good!

Sparklers from Ritani****

This collection has just been added to my wish list! I am blinded by the idea of having one of these!

Some photos from Asian Winter Games 2011.

Raising the flag of Kazakhstan.

The tree of life.

Golden army.

Tulpar.

Lighting the Olympic Fire.

Photos are provided by my friend Ainur Iskakova =^^= Thank you my dear friend :-)
I asked my other friend my take some photos of the Ice Town built in Astana. I am taking photos of the Astana Ice Town each year, but this winter they built it only at the end of January when I already left. Looking forward for receiving and posting them :-)

Cool outfit!

This is a photo from the Winter Asian Games 2011 opening event. I really likes the outfit of the man! I don't know yet what is the origin of this costume. It is for sure from Kazakh history. It looks quite futuristic thought. I can imagine a solder in 2050 wearing something like this. The next thing I am going to do is to find out the origin of the outfit!

Dr Dorian from Scrubs is awesome!

I wish to have Terry Gilliam's fantasy and humour!

"The ministry of silly walks" poster always makes my mood better.
Terry Gilliam's  most resent work is a scenario for the movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. But the most significant his work is Monty Python's Flying Circus TV series! If you start watching his movies you cant stop till you watch them all.
Some info about Terry Gilliam:
"Was first known for the bizarre animation sequences in "Monty Python's Flying Circus" (1969) using cutout pictures and photographs.
Heroes in his films often dream of a woman who they have not yet met, but will meet during the course of the film. In the dream, the woman's face is obscured.
Often features people/animals bursting through walls or ceilings.
Often begins and ends his films with the same shot.
Heavy use of wide angle lenses." (taken from IMDb)

7th Winter Asian Games | Astana-Almaty 2011

Today is the first day of Winter Asian Games 2011. This year the event is held in my hometown. This is my favourite promo made for the event. I like the way how designers combined the elements from history culture and even cold climate. The Asian Winter Games 2011 will warm up cold place. It is a pity my mum couldn't get a tickets for opening night but she has a ticket for figure skating! Denis Ten is going to perform there and I asked her to take some photos for my collection! Good luck to our sportsmen!

The creative person: Richard Williams

Today I have ordered his book about animation history! Cant wait to read it!

Do you listen to music when you work?

Richard Williams once found out that the other genius animator Milt Kahl doesn't listen to music while he is working. Kahl explained: "I am not smart enough to focus on animation and listen to music at the same time." Since then Williams told the world of animators not to listen to music. :-)
Sometimes I find it hard to work with music but during the night work music helps to forget about sleeping and in some cases it inspires me. Mostly it depends on the type of project you are working on. I know that Mozart helps to make a research.

Here is some info about great animator - Richard Williams. He is a Canadian animator. He is best known for serving as animation director on Disney/Amblin's Who Framed Roger Rabbit and for his unfinished feature film The Thief and the Cobbler. He was also a film title sequence designer and animator; his most famous works in this field included the title sequences to What's New, Pussycat? (1965), title and linking sequences in The Charge of the Light Brigade (1968). He also animated the eponymous cartoon feline for two of the later Pink Panther films.
Above is an animated promotion for his book called "The Animator's Survival Kit Animated Logo line test".

Creation of animation by Oha.

"Scenes I am working with for one of my animated projects.

This is basically what I'm dealing with each time.
First thing to do is a very rough animated test in Flash.
I've lost a rough animation for needed scene, so it's from completely different part of the film. Sorry for that!
Then goes inking and colouring.
The final step is to add a background.

All is done in Flash CS3, though, you can do everything with even Flash 5."

This could be useful for a photo shooting.

The person who made this tutorial is genius. It is so simple and easy comparing to those that you can find on YouTube. Thank you Twiggy too :-)

Dream land!

This is a life in magenta!

Creeeeepy!

Tower of baby cupcakes is too "cute". This doesn't look Kawaii at all. I wont eat these, eating a baby is creepy.

Breathtaking landscape inspires me!

This landscape is just like from the Harry Potter movie! I added it to my wishlist of places I would love to visit! I would love to make a photo set there! I can already imagine how it will look like: girl with red hair and pale skin (like Lily Cole) in a bright yellow dress and futuristic train at the background. Some kind of modern Hermione Granger! =^_^=

Jason Lee's favourite models are his daughters.

Jason Lee's photos with his daughters are very positive and inspirational. He portrays them cute and funny. The photo above with growing child is one of my favourites.

My "christmas tree" decoration.

This year I bought sparkly white-golden decorative balls. I was thinking to buy a white-silver tree but it didn't happen because of terrible weather and lack of a time. And we decided at least to decorate our tree in the pot. It looks great! My cat as usual was trying to drop the decorations and play with them. On the photo you can see my cat posing near the tree :-)

Funny creative photos by Geof Kern.

Geof Kern stands among the most awarded American photographers. With an unfettered imagination he worked for the most creative magazines and ad agencies. His very distinctive work is a combination of rationalism and conceptualism, inspired by “post-modernist” painters. Geof Kern works on a storyboard before shooting, creating images with a particular cinematographic mood and capturing a very original world. His photographs are exhibited all around the world.

A present from Tokyo!

My friend from Tokyo Maya brought me a cool presents. One of them is a pack of stickers with Hello Kitty mascot on it. The stickers are printed on paper with beautiful organic texture. The stickers are full colour and frame is golden. She also brought me a bunch of magazines and brochures with nice designs. Now I have so many inspiration for a Final Major Project.

A dramatic photo of my dissertation ^^

I'm so looking forward for a feedback! I spent whole winter holidays working on the dissertation and enjoyed that time :-) I would say writing a dissertation was very useful for me. My teacher - proof-reader helped me to improve the grammar and I took additional lessons of English. He said that I don't use articles at all and over all I have to be careful and think about a grammar.
The dissertation called: "The culture of cute". It is mainly about Kawaii style. The style which is 40 years old and transforming very fast into something opposite.

Fruit shaped sticky notes by Masashi Tentaku

They are so cool! This is exactly a kind of design that makes you think: "Why the idea is not mine!" I love that they are a real size and packed exactly like fruits!
